About the ISO 17100 standard
Standard ISO 17100 was created on the basis of EN 15038, developed by the CEN (European Committee for Standardization) and takes into account the provisions of national standards. It was published in 2006.
ISO 17100 sets out the requirements for the core processes, resources, and other important aspects necessary to deliver quality translation services in accordance with applicable specifications.
The application of ISO 17100 ISO 17100 allows translation service providers (TSPs) to demonstrate that their services comply with international standards, as well as the effectiveness of their processes and resources in delivering translations that meet both client requirements and other relevant standards.
About the ISO 18841 standard
ISO 18841 sets standards for the key processes, resources, and other elements necessary to provide high-quality interpreting services in accordance with applicable regulations.
About the ISO 18587 standard
Standard ISO 18587 sets out the requirements for the post-editing process, meaning human editing of machine-translated texts, as well as for the competence of editors. This standard is applied by translation service providers and editors and focuses on processing texts produced by machine translation. ISO 18587 was developed to improve translator productivity, speed up order fulfilment, and maintain market competitiveness in the context of growing demand for machine translation.
